Hong Kong Trade Development Council Studies More about Cambodia’s Investment Potential


Delegation of Hong Kong Trade Development Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, led by its Chairman Dr. Peter K N Lam has sought for more investment expansion opportunity in Cambodia.

The Chinese delegation was received by H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), at the CDC’s headquarters in Phnom Penh on July 31.

On the occasion, H.E. Sun Chanthol gave a presentation about the Kingdom’s current investment opportunities and potential with cordial coordination of the CDC.

For his side, Dr. Peter K N Lam appreciated H.E. Sun Chanthol for his detail information, and expressed his intention to consider the possibility to expand and increase Hong Kong investment in Cambodia, aiming to promote the bilateral ties of friendship between Cambodia and China, as well as tighten the good collaboration in the ASEAN region.

Prior to the meeting, H.E. Sun Chanthol exchanged two MoUs on investment cooperation with Ms.
Margaret Fong, Executive Director of Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and a representative of Hong Kong Investment Corporation Limited, under the presidency of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, and H.E. John KC Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, during their meeting here at the Peace Palace.
