MILD 4.0 MAGNITUDE QUAKE JOLTS NORTHWESTERN MYANMAR

YANGON, Myanmar Aug 28 (NNN-Bernama) � A mild earthquake measuring 4.0 magnitude on the Richter scale Tuesday jolted Myanmar’s Sagaing region, said a release from the meteorology and hydrology department.

According to Xinhua news agency, the quake struck at 10.55am local time (042531 GMT).

Its epicentre was 19km northwest of Paungbyin township and 46.7km southeast of the Tamu seismological observatory in the region.
