Naver Corp. on Friday reported its second-quarter net income of 332.1 billion won (US$241.1 million), up 15.8 percent from a year earlier.

The company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 472.7 billion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 372.7 billion won a year ago. Revenue rose 8.4 percent to 2.61 trillion won.

The earnings fell short of market expectations. The average estimate of net profit by analysts stood at 339 billion won, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
