{"id":26988,"date":"2022-04-18T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-18T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/myanmarnewsgazette.com\/?guid=063d17d5c2d017e922d1497dea41cfd8"},"modified":"2022-04-18T05:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-04-18T00:00:00","slug":"myanmars-yangon-intl-airport-reopens-after-two-year-suspension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/myanmarnewsgazette.com\/myanmars-yangon-intl-airport-reopens-after-two-year-suspension\/","title":{"rendered":"Myanmar&#8217;s Yangon Int&#8217;l Airport Reopens After Two-Year Suspension"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><P> Myanmar reopened the Yangon International Airport yesterday, more than two years after the country suspended all commercial flights, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/P><P>An airport official said that, a Singapore Airlines flight that arrived at around 9.00 a.m. (0230 GMT) yesterday was the first flight touching down at the airport after the reopening.<\/P><P>The country suspended the operation of commercial flights in Mar, 2020, at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, in an attempt to contain the virus.<\/P><P>Inbound passengers need to present proof of vaccination with a Ministry of Health-approved vaccine and a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report, as part of the health protocol.<\/P><P>Meanwhile, all foreign travellers shall submit the COVID-19 medical insurance, purchased from Myanmar Insurance.<\/P><P>All incoming travellers shall also wait at designated hotels for the RT-PCR test result, that is to be sent by the Health Ministry in about 24 hours.<\/P><P>Myanmar confirmed 18 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 612,545.
