Cambodian 3×3 women\u2019s wheelchair basketball national team qualified for the final after defeating their Lao and Filipino opponents 16-1 and 14-0, respectively at the 12th ASEAN Para Games at Morodok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh this afternoon.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Earlier, the Cambodian women\u2019s team lost to their Thai rival 7-10 in the same 3\u00d73 event.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
For men\u2019s category, Cambodia won over Indonesia, but lost to Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Wheelchair basketball is the first sport to kick off as part of the 12th ASEAN Para Games. Taking place from June 2 to 7, wheelchair basketball competitions are divided into 3×3 men\u2019s and women\u2019s and 5×5 men\u2019s and women\u2019s events.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Participating countries are host Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Laos.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The 12th ASEAN Para Games is going to be officially opened tomorrow evening under the presidency of Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his spouse.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
A total of 2,692 sports delegates and athletes are participating in the ASEAN Para Games 2023: host Cambodia (343), Thailand (629), Indonesia (580), Malaysia (290), the Philippines (272), Vietnam (194), Singapore (131), Myanmar (131), Lao PDR (89), Brunei Darussalam (32), and Timor-Leste (31).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Fourteen (14) sports including Athletics, Badminton, Boccia, Chess, 5-a-side Football, 7-a-side Football, Goalball, Judo, Powerlifting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Siting Volleyball, Wheelchairs Basketball, and E-sports (Demonstration) are listed for the regional games with 431 sports events at the Morodok Techo National Stadium, National Olympic Stadium and other courts in Phnom Penh capital.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
