337 5G TRANSMISSION STATIONS OPERATING IN PAHANG

A total of 337 5G transmission station structures have been completed and are operating as of April 30, said Pahang state Communications and Multimedia, Youth, Sports and Non-Governmental Organisation Committee chairman Fadzli Mohamad Kamal.

He said the remaining 24 structures are targeted for completion at the end of the second quarter of this year, thus meeting the 5G coverage target in populated areas as stipulated by Digital Nasional Berhad.

“The next phase of implementation is expected to start in the third quarter of this year by targeting more 5G coverage areas in new locations, with the focus being on the West Pahang area, especially Raub, Lipis, Bentong and Cameron Highlands, to achieve the 5G coverage target in populated areas at the national level, which is 80 per cent,’ he said.

He said this during the state assembly sitting at Wisma Sri Pahang here today.

He added that a total of 143 new telecommunication towers with 4G coverage had been completed and operational as of April.

“Attention is
now focused on completing the remaining 127 towers, which are at various stages of implementation, and should be ready for operation in stages by the end of this year,’ he said.

Meanwhile, Fadzli said the Pahang contingent to the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) in Sarawak in August would comprise 45 team managers, 127 coaches, 327 male athletes and 276 female athletes.

He also said that the pitch at the Darul Makmur Stadium would be upgraded from the cow grass type to the Bermuda grass, with the state government agreeing to channel an allocation of RM1.2 million.
