50TH ANNIVERSARY OF MALAYSIA-CHINA TIES: BERNAMA TV TO AIR ROUNDTABLE FORUM ON FRIDAY


KUALA LUMPUR, The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), through its television news channel, Bernama TV, will air a roundtable forum this Friday in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations this year.

Bernama Head of TV Nor Hamzeela Md Hambali said that the one-hour forum featuring four distinguished panelists will focus on the history of Malaysia-China relations, which have been strong for five decades.

The four panelists are Minister of Transport Anthony Loke, Minister-Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia Lin Shiguang, President of the Malaysia-China Friendship Association Datuk Abdul Majid Ahmad Khan, and Deputy President of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia Datuk Ng Yih Pyng.

“This forum, a collaboration between Bernama TV and China Global Television Network (CGTN), is divided into four main segments covering diplomatic relations, trade and economy, cross-cultural interactions, and education that strengthen the ties bet
ween the two countries,” she said in a statement today.

The forum, hosted by Bernama TV anchor Jessy Chahal together with CGTN Guangzhou Bureau Chief Tang Bo at Wisma Bernama here, will also be broadcast on all Bernama social media platforms at 2.30 pm.

Previously, a roundtable forum was broadcast live on the CGTN platform, hosted by Bernama TV journalist and news presenter Nor Liyana Zulkifli alongside Tang Bo.

In addition, three mini-documentary series, a first-time collaboration with the major media agency will also be aired on May 30 as well as June 1 and 4 at 8.30 pm.

These mini-documentaries will highlight the history of Malaysia’s relations, particularly Melaka, with China.
