Solicitor-General II Datuk Almalena Sharmila Johan has been appointed as the new Solicitor-General effective Oct 2.
Attorney-General (AG) Datuk Ahmad Terrirudin Mohd Salleh said Datuk Suzana Atan has, meanwhile, been appointed as Solicitor-General II replacing Almalena, also effective Oct 2.
“The appointments are in line with the Directive on the Transfer of Legal Officers No 107 and 108/2023. All members of the Attorney-General’s Chambers congratulate this appointment,” he said in a statement today.
Almalena, who was previously Head of the Advisory Division of the Attorney-General’s Department, was appointed as Solicitor-General to replace Ahmad Terrirudin, who officially began his duties as Attorney-General on Sept 6.
Before this, Almalena, who represented the Attorney-General’s Department, joined Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said and Malaysia’s ambassador to Spain Datuk Akmal Che Mustafa on a trip to Madrid, Spain to handle the Sulu claimants’ dispute.
Suzana, meanwhile, was the Senior Federal Counsel who handled civil cases and election petitions.
