The APSARA National Authority (ANA) has been installing two more wooden handrails at the Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap province to ease the tourists’ visit.

According to the authority’s recent news release, the working team of Tourism Services Control of the ANA’s Department of Tourism Development and Culture has continued their busy work to install another two wooden handrails at the southern and northern staircases going up to Bakan Tower of Angkor Wat.

The head of the working team, Mr. Bou Phaneth, said that the wooden handrails installation work is aimed to facilitate tourists going to Bakan Tower, particularly to prevent slipping in the rainy season, provide safety for all tourists, and prevent other dangers such as dizziness, heart palpitations, and so on because this location is steep and has a height of more than ten metres.

Mr. Bou Phaneth added that the ANA continues to repair the damaged wooden stairs and install handrails at various risk locations to prevent accidents by taking into account t
he safety of tourists as well as to reduce direct contact with the stone.
