Cambodia, China Discuss TVET Collaboration


Cambodia and China have discussed cooperation in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and higher education.

The discussion took place between H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth, and Sports, and a delegation of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Education Department of the People’s Republic of China led by Director General H.E. Liu Youyi in Phnom Penh on Monday.

According to H.E. Liu Youyi, the cooperation will focus mainly on expanding scholarships for higher education and TVET programme support in the country.

H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron thanked the Chinese government for the technical training programme and research at high schools and higher education institutions.

He continued that the support has contributed to developing Cambodia’s quality human resource development, which is a major pillar in accelerating the government’s vision to become an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050.

The partnership ini
tiatives between Cambodia and China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Education Department will mutually benefit the two countries and peoples.
