Cambodia, Germany Discuss Mechanisms to Boost Investment


The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) and Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Germany have discussed necessary mechanisms to promote and facilitate investment between Cambodia and Germany.

The Cambodian side was led by H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and CDC First Vice President, while the German side was headed by Mr. Markus Lotzsch, President of Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

During their working dinner in Nuremberg, Germany on June 12, the CDC vice president informed Mr. Markus Lotzsch about investment potentials and opportunities in Cambodia, the country’s favourable investment environment, the openness of Investment Law, the Royal Government’s incentives for all investments, and interconnected infrastructure to facilitate transport, and so on.

He also raised about Comprehensive Master Plan on Cambodia Intermodal Transport and Logistics System 2023-2033 which allows investors to invest in many infrastructure projects to boost the national economy.

ide, Mr. Markus Lotzsch briefed the Cambodian delegation about the benefits of Rhine-Main-Danube Canal, which has changed the image of Nuremberg city, along with better economy, better transport, and increased incomes for local people, particularly competitive logistics prices.

In the same spirit, he also praised Royal Government of Cambodia’s initiative on Funan Techo Canal Project which will be broken ground in Aug. 5, 2024 for the same interests.
