Cambodia Ready to Host 12th General Assembly of ICAPP in November

Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen said Cambodia is ready to host the 12th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in November this year in Phnom Penh.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen affirmed Cambodia’s readiness for the upcoming regional event when he received H.E. Jung Eui-Yong, Co-Chairman of the Standing Committee and Secretary General of the ICAPP, during his stay in Seoul, the Republic of Korea on Sept. 10.

The senate president said the organisation process of the 12th ICAPP General Assembly has been running smoothly as this is the second time for Cambodia to host the event.

According to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, this upcoming event will be chaired by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia and Vice President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) while he himself will be the honorary chairman of the general assembly.

Besides, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister of Cambodia, gave some recommendations to H.E.
Jung Eui-Yong on the drafting of the ICAPP’s declaration.

For his part, H.E. Jung Eui-Yong thanked Samdech Techo Hun Sen for the recommendation and underlined that the 12th General Assembly of ICAPP would be bigger than the previous events with political parties from many countries in attendance, and the goal of this important event is to seek peace, reconciliation and resolutions and provide knowledge to the whole world.

The Cambodian People’s Party is the first party in the ICAPP family to host the ICAPP General Assembly twice. The first time – the 6th ICAPP General Assembly – was in 2010.
