Cambodia, Thailand to Deepen Cooperation on Transport and Connectivity Sectors

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Cambodia and the Ministry of Transport of Thailand have agreed to further strengthen and expand the cooperation in the fields of transport and connectivity between the two neighbouring countries.

The agreement was reached in a meeting via Videoconference on June 17 between Cambodian Minister of Public Works and Transport H.E. Peng Ponea and his Thai counterpart H.E. Suriya Jungrungreangkit.

The bilateral meeting touched especially on the management, maintenance and use of Cambodia-Thailand Friendship Bridge (Stung Bot-Ban Nong Ian).

According to a news release of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the Thai side will maintain the policy of not charging for vehicles crossing the Friendship Bridge at the request of the Cambodian side.

At the same time, the source added, both ministers agreed to look into an appropriate time to hold a meeting within the framework of bilateral transport cooperation and to conduct a field visit to the Stung Bot-Ban Nong Ian
