Cambodia to Celebrate 7th TVET National Day Tomorrow


Cambodia is going to celebrate the 7th National Day of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh on June 15 from 08:00 to 20:00.

The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MOLVT) will lead the organisation of the event in cooperation with development partners and other education stakeholders.

At a recent press conference, H.E. Kata Orn, Secretary of State and Spokesperson of MoLVT, said the TVET National Day is aimed to enhance the quality, values and reputation of TVET through outreach and encouragement to students, youth, parents, guardians, workers, employees, employers, private sector and the public to understand more clearly and widely about the importance of TVET, as well as actively participate in the development of a quality workforce to meet the needs of the labour market, both domestically and internationally.

More than 60,000 people are expected to join this year’s celebration of TVET National Day, which will also stre
ngthen the cooperation between the 37 technical training institutions across the country in order to attract the targeted youths to study technical skills, he said.

According to H.E. Hing Sideth, Director General of Technical and Vocational Education and Training at MoLVT, the 7th National Day of Technical and Vocational Education will feature an exhibition of 125 booths from 104 institutions, including 34 government agencies, technical and vocational training institutions, and 70 private companies, institutions, organisations, associations and development partners.

The exhibition will highlight the importance of TVET, disseminate and introduce priority sectors and professions that are in high demand in the labour market, and technical and vocational education and training institutions.
