Cambodia to Host Mekong Tourism Forum Next Month

Cambodian Ministry of Tourism will organise the Mekong Tourism Forum 2023 and the 51st Meeting of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Tourism Working Group in late April in Preah Sihanouk province.

The information was shared in a recent preparatory meeting at the Ministry of Tourism under the chairmanship of H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism.

H.E. Thong Rathasak, Director General of the General Department of Tourism Development and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Tourism, said the 51st Meeting of the GMS Tourism Working Group on April 25 will be attended by 80 heads and senior technical officers of National Tourism Organisations (NTOs).

The Mekong Tourism Forum 2023 will be held on April 26 with the participation of around 180 delegates from GMS countries, the private sector and the media.

H.E. Thong Rathasak, said twenty sustainable tourism exhibition pavilions will be erected at the Independence Hotel in Sihanoukville.

H.E. Thong Khon provided some recommendations to the concerned parties to cooperate well in organising the events successfully.

It is an opportunity to demonstrate the potential of Cambodia and the focus should be on providing better services including hospitality, accommodation and food, he underlined.
