Cambodian Central Banker Earns A- in Global Finance Central Banker Report Card 2024

H.E. Ms. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), has been graded an A- in the Central Banker Report Cards 2024 by the Global Finance Magazine.

The good news was shared by the NBC in a press release made public on Aug. 24, adding that other central bankers in the same group include Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, European Union, Guatemala, Indonesia, Jamaica, Jordan, Mongolia, Norway, Peru, the Philippines, Sweden, and USA.

Central bankers of Denmark, India and Switzerland receive each an A+ grade, while those of Brazil, Chile, Mauritius, Morocco, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam earn an A grade.

The Central Banker Report Cards, published annually by Global Finance since 1994, grade the central bank governors of nearly 100 key countries, territories and districts, as well as the European Union, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, the Bank of Central African States and the Central Bank of West African States.

Grades are based on an ‘A+’ to ‘F’ scale for success in areas su
ch as inflation control, economic growth goals, currency stability and interest rate management. (‘A’ represents an excellent performance, down through ‘F’ for outright failure.)

‘Global Finance’s annual Central Banker Report Cards honor those bank leaders whose strategies outperformed their peers through originality, creativity and tenacity,’ said Global Finance founder and editorial director Mr. Joseph Giarraputo.
