Cambodian PM Supports Puy du Fou’s ‘Immersive Angkor’ Project


Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received in Paris, France on Jan. 15 Mr. Geoffroy LADET, CEO of Puy du Fou Asia.

In the courtesy meeting, Mr. Geoffroy LADET informed the Cambodian Premier about his company’s plan to establish “Immersive Angkor”, the first 3D virtual museum in Cambodia, stressing that the project, a complementary service to the Cambodian tourism sector in addition to ancient temples and cultural destinations, is scheduled to start soon.

In reply, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed his support to the “Immersive Angkor,” which is an excellent project that will help expand the knowledge of Cambodian youth, especially the younger generation, to better understand the Cambodian culture and civilisation.

On the same day, the Cambodian Premier also met with Mr. Emmanuel ROCHAS, CEO of Wholesale International Group and Representative of Orange Group, and Mr. Philippe DELLEUR, Senior Vice President of Alstom.

adei of Orange Group’s intention to expand its investment in connecting ICT from Cambodia to other countries through submarine fiber optic cables.

Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister asked the company to continue discussions with existing partners and the Cambodian Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in charge of telecommunication and information infrastructure development in Cambodia.

For his part, Mr. Philippe DELLEUR said Alstom is interested in investing in urban planning and transport links from one city to another in Cambodia, and in building a railway from Phnom Penh to the airport or other areas.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet encouraged Alstom to have further discussions with the Cambodian Ministry of Public Works and Transport to conduct feasibility studies in key economic potential areas of the Kingdom, such as Phnom Penh capital, and Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk provinces.
