Cooperation between Cambodian and Thai Parliaments Lauded

Cambodia and Thailand have appreciated the progress in their close relations and cooperation, particularly between their legislative bodies, reflected through visit exchange and their mutual support at inter-parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership (ASEP), Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF), and ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA).

The satisfaction was made by Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, Acting Head of State, and visiting H.E. Wanmuhamadnoor Matha, President of the National Assembly and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand, during their meeting here at the Senate Palace this morning.

The two leaders wished the two parliaments to foster their cooperation for the common cause of both countries and peoples.

H.E. Wanmuhamadnoor Math highly valued the progress of Cambodia, and noted the growing investment between the two neighbouring nations.

Samdech Say Chhum expressed his gratitude to Princess Maha Chakri Sir
indhorn for supporting Kampong Chheuteal Institute of Technology and Kampong Speu Institute of Technology and for having granted scholarships to more than 3,000 Cambodian students so far.

The Acting Head of State welcomed and supported the two Royal Governments’ initiative to promote their tourism through ‘Two Kingdoms, One Destination’, cross-border travel facilitation, and so on.

Samdech Say Chhum expressed his conviction that the Thai government and parliament will continue to pay attention to the Cambodian migrant workers in Thailand, which is a Win-Win policy for socio-economic development of the two countries.

Cambodia and Thailand are going to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties next year.
