DPM SOK Chenda Sophea Receives Japanese Scholarship Awardees


Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. SOK Chenda Sophea received here on July 10 a courtesy call by 25 Cambodian awardees of the Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) for PhD and Master Degrees from 14 ministries and institutions.

On that occasion, the Cambodian top diplomat expressed his congratulations to the 25 awardees and encouraged them to study hard and return with in-depth knowledge and skills to contribute to the development of the nation.

H.E. SOK Chenda Sophea advised the awardees to be fully aware of Cambodia’s identity, history and culture to promote Cambodia’s image and culture to the host and foreign students in Japan. He also motivated the awardees to learn about the history and culture of Japan to deepen the good friendship and relations between Cambodia and Japan.

In conclusion, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister encouraged the awardees to help and support each other, as the old saying goes, “In the house, everyone h
as a different mother, but in the jungle, everyone has the same mother.’

The awardees expressed their deepest gratitude to H.E. Deputy Prime Minister for providing meaningful advice and also expressed their commitment to studying hard to obtain extensive knowledge of their expertise to contribute to the socio-economic development of Cambodia.
