Fahmi, Nga Attend Asian Youth Orchestra Concert


KUALA LUMPUR, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil attended a concert by the Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO) held at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas here today.

Also present was Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming, joining more than 600 concertgoers to enjoy the performance brought by Rondo Production.

Both the ministers arrived at 7.45 pm and had a meet and greet session with the audience before the performances began at 8 pm.

The concert showcased the talent of young musicians from across Asia, highlighting the importance of cultural exchange and the arts.

It was organised in collaboration with the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Jakarta, to forge meaningful international partnerships and deliver world-class artistic experiences.

The over two-hour-long concert featured 103 outstanding musicians from more than 10 countries and territories across Asia, including six from Malaysia, under the direction of Maestro Jader Bignamini.

The orchestra delivered a repertoire that included Geo
rge Gershwin’s Symphonic Suite from Porgy and Bess, Ottorino Respighi’s Pines of Rome, Leonard Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, and Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
