His Majesty the King Commends NA and RGC for Enhancing National Prestige

His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, has praised the National Assembly (NA) and the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) for their great role on behalf of the Kingdom of Cambodia in hosting past major meetings, including the ASEAN Summits, the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and many other related meetings.

This great success has enhanced the national prestige on the international stage, especially tightened Cambodia’s diplomacy and cooperation with friendly countries more broadly and comprehensively, wrote the monarch in a royal message for the inauguration ceremony of the 9th session of the NA’s 6th legislature.

His Majesty the King also expressed his delight to see that in the past nearly 30 years, since the 1993 general election, the Cambodian nation has maintained and strengthened the respect for the monarchy, liberal, multi-party democracy, as well as boosted the development in all areas.

The monarch praised the leaders at all levels and all the compatriots who have worked hard to fulfill their respective duties, leading to the current great achievements beyond the expectations on the Cambodian territory.

His Majesty the King lauded the adoption of 109 important laws in the NA’s 6th legislature to ensure the sustainability of the nation’s progress and to improve its constitutional democracy.

At the same time, His Majesty the King spoke highly of the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen in successfully solving many challenges, particularly the economic restoration after the COVID-19 crisis, and in fulfilling key tasks of maintaining peace and defending independence for the nation and the people.

The 9th session of the NA’s 6th legislature was inaugurated at the NA Palace this morning under the presidency of NA President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin with the participation of 105 lawmakers.
