Jeju Forum closes 3-day run with participation of 300 global leaders

An annual international peace forum on South Korea’s southern resort island of Jeju concluded Friday, with the participation of global leaders to discuss their ideas on key security challenges, including geopolitical uncertainties and climate change.

The 19th Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity wrapped up its three-day run with closing remarks by Jeju Gov. Oh Young-hun.

“I will make Jeju a global hub of discourse on peace and prosperity, where vibrant international solidarity and cooperation thrive,” Oh said.

Under the theme “Acting Together for a Better World,” this year’s event brought together approximately 300 prominent foreign policy experts and former and current figures from the government and private sectors.

“Next year marks the 20th anniversary of Jeju’s designation as an island of world peace,” Oh noted, vowing to develop the annual forum into a venue that fosters sustainable peace and prosperity.
