KMJG 2024 convoy to distribute 6,500 Jalur Gemilang in Penang

KEPALA BATAS, A total of 6,500 Jalur Gemilang will be distributed at various locations visited by the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) 2024 convoy in Penang, which began today.

State Information Department (JaPen) director Hasmiza Hussin said the convoy would visit three districts, namely Seberang Perai Utara (SPU), Seberang Perai Tengah (SPT) and Seberang Perai Selatan (SPS).

‘They will distribute the Jalur Gemilang to the public, MADANI Communities and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

‘Additionally, JaPen will continue distributing the national flags to the public throughout the national month,’ she told reporters here today.

Hasmiza was met at the event welcoming the arrival of KMJG 2024 convoy participants at the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department Air Base in Bertam, officiated by SPU chief assistant district officer Mohd Abdul Rahman Ismail.

She said that besides flying the Jalur Gemilang, Malaysians could demonstrate their love for the country by embodying noble values, practising tol
erance, supporting government initiatives and sharing accurate and truthful news.

‘Use social media responsibly to enliven the National Month celebrations with positive messages to the community,’ she said.

Meanwhile, Mohd Abdul Rahman, in his speech, urged all levels of society to cultivate a sense of love for the country and express it by flying the Jalur Gemilang throughout the National Month and Malaysia Day celebrations.

The KMJG 2024 convoy in Penang features about 25 vehicles and 18 motorcycles from the Suzuki V-Strom Club and various agencies.

Tomorrow, the convoy will start its journey at Dewan Permatang Pasir before heading to Penanti Public Market and Bukit Mertajam Public Market and then to the SPT District Mosque in Perda, Bukit Mertajam.

In the SPS district, the convoy is expected to make a stop at SMK Sungai Acheh and Al-Amin Mosque, Simpang Tiga, before leaving for Perak.
