Kotak Seni KB Intensifies Efforts To Engage Kelantan Youth In Collective Arts

Kotak Seni KB is stepping up its efforts to encourage the participation of Kelantan youth in collective arts activities, said its founder Nik Mohamad Izwan Nik Annuar.

He said community movements were crucial for strengthening the state’s arts industry.

‘This collective approach involves group members working together to improve their living standards or achieve a common objective, regardless of their diverse backgrounds.

‘With their potential and skills in arts, young artists in Kelantan can express their creativity collectively,’ he told Bernama during the Festival Kesenian Rakyat Kelate 2024 at Pantai Irama here.

Established in 2019, Kotak Seni KB is an art collective that promotes visual arts through exhibitions, painting demonstrations, caricatures and drawing contests.

For this festival, Kotak Seni KB has been entrusted with managing activities at the National Art Gallery booth.

Nik Mohamad Izwan said that through the ‘Jejak Seni Malaysia’ initiative, a special project by the National Art Gallery
, they are helping to map the arts ecosystem across Malaysia.

He added that Kotak Seni KB has previously conducted various activities in Kelantan, such as KBcreative Week in 2023, and frequently organises arts programmes like ‘Pasar Cik Siti’ and KB Coffee Week around Kota Bharu.
