Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co. on Tuesday reported its second-quarter net income of 21.1 billion won (US$15.2 million), down 36.1 percent from a year earlier.

The company said in a regulatory filing that operating profit for the April-June period rose 1.8 percent on-year to 60.2 billion won. Revenue increased 38.1 percent to 1.09 trillion won.

The earnings fell behind market expectations. The average estimate of net profit by analysts stood at 30.8 billion won, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
