MAIWP PRESENTS MOBILE TRUCKS TO 10 ASNAF ENTREPRENEURS

KUALA LUMPUR, The Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) today presented 10 mobile trucks, worth RM894,000, to selected asnaf entrepreneurs to help them improve their businesses.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’ím Mokhtar said the contribution was made possible through a strategic collaboration between MAIWP and BriTay Asia (M) Sdn Bh.

He said it was also in line with the government’s aspiration to eliminate hardcore poverty.

“Through this incentive, the entrepreneurs will be assisted by MAIWP with a deposit payment of RM26,820 or 30 per cent of the vehicle price,” he said when met after the MAIWP Mobilepreneur handing over programme here today.

He said the balance of RM62,580 for each vehicle will be provided by BriTay Asia in the form of interest-free financing to be paid by the aid recipients within three years…and the vehicle will belong to the entrepreneur.

Meanwhile, one of the recipients, Nik Muhammad Aqim Mohd Zaki, 33, said he will use the facility to expand his ‘nasi kukus’ business.

“I hope programmes like these will be continued to help other entrepreneurs to increase their income. The repayment of RM1,500 (for the mobile truck) a month is affordable,” he said and urged other recipients to make repayments on time so that the programme can be expanded to more entrepreneurs.
