NATIONAL MONTH LAUNCH: GRAB OFFERS AT KITA MADANI CARNIVAL – FAHMI FADZIL

People in Perak and surrounding areas have been urged to take the opportunity to grab the offers provided by various agencies involved in the Kita MADANI Carnival that is taking place at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Meru Raya today.

The carnival is being held in conjunction with the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2023 campaign which will be launched at the venue tomorrow.

Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said agencies such as the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Information Department, National Registration Department as well as internet service providers, among others, have set up booths at the carnival, in addition to other programmes such as Rahmah Sales and health screenings.

“InsyaAllah, we expect at least 10,000 visitors… I was also told…that as of 5.30 pm, the number of people who have come to buy goods through the Rahmah Sales programme has reached over 5,000 people.

“Take advantage of these booths, including those from (the government) agencies, internet service providers, and the Royal Malaysia Police which is offering a 50 per cent discount on traffic summonses,” he said at a press conference after visiting the venue to see the final preparations for the launching ceremony today.

The chairman of the National Day and Malaysia Day 2023 celebrations main committee said he was satisfied with the preparations, adding that he hoped those attending the ceremony tomorrow will get a boost in their patriotic spirit in conjunction with the National Month celebrations.

Besides the 6,600 Unity Steps which will be held tomorrow, other activities that are being held beginning today include a patriotic star competition, quizzes and the flagging off of the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang convoy.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof will launch the celebrations tomorrow on behalf of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The National Day celebration on Aug 31 will be held at Dataran Putrajaya while the Malaysia Day celebration on Sept 16 will take place in Kuching, Sarawak.
