PAHANG REGENT PRESENTS AWARDS, MEDALS TO 181 RECIPIENTS

Acting Sultan of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today presented state awards and medals to 181 recipients.

The ceremony held in conjunction with the 63rd birthday of the Sultan of Pahang which took place at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Silver Jubilee Hall here, was also attended by Tengku Hassanal’s brother Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah.

Also present were Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, state leaders and heads of government departments.

At the investiture ceremony, 20 individuals were conferred the Setia Ahmad Shah Pahang (SAP) award, 22 received the Setia Mahkota Pahang (SMP) award, while another 17 were conferred the Ahli Ahmad Shah Pahang (AAP) award.

A total of 32 individuals received the Ahli Mahkota Pahang (AMP) award, 18 individuals were accorded the Pingat Khidmat Cemerlang, three were awarded the Pingat Gagah Perwira (PGP), 25 individuals received the Pingat Kelakuan Terpuji (PKT) and 44 individuals were awarded the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK).

Meanwhile, Malaysian Weightlifting Federation (PABM) vice-president Amirul Hamizan Ibrahim who was conferred the SMP, said it was a great honour to receive the award from the state government for his contribution to the sport.

A native of Kuala Rompin, Amirul Hamizan first started to represent Pahang in weightlifting in 1995.

The Commonwealth Games gold medalist added that the award will motivate him to take Malaysian weightlifting to a higher level, while vouching to restore the glory of the sport in the state.

Another recipient of the SMP award was Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) News Services senior editor Ahmad Shukran Shaharudin.
