Perak KPDN Raids Restaurant, Seizes 430 Kg Of Cooking Oil

IPOH, The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) confiscated 430 kg of cooking oil suspected to be stored without a permit at a restaurant in Medan Simpang near Taiping yesterday.

Perak KPDN director Datuk Kamalludin Ismail said enforcement officers from the Taiping branch seized 86 bottles of five kg of cooking oil and related documents.

‘The total value of the seized items is estimated at RM 2,657.40…the restaurant failed to produce the necessary licence or permit for the controlled item,’ he said in a statement today, adding that the case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.

Kamaluddin said companies, organisations, or individuals must have a permit or written permission from the Supply Controller to purchase controlled items in specified quantities from licensed wholesalers for purposes other than resale.
