Police book 4 additional medical staff on abetting murder charges in 36-week abortion case

Police have booked four additional medical staff, including an anesthesiologist, on charges of abetting murder in connection with the abortion of a 36-week-old fetus, officials said Friday.

Police have launched an investigation after a vlog video surfaced in June in which a YouTuber claimed that she had an abortion in the 36th week of her pregnancy. Police have since booked the woman and the doctor who performed the abortion on murder charges.

“We have confirmed that five medical personnel participated in that,” a police official said. “In addition to the operating surgeon, we have booked an anesthesiologist and three assistant medical staff on charges of abetting murder.”

The YouTuber in her 20s underwent two rounds of questioning and admitted to getting an abortion.

The anesthesiologist, who was outsourced for the operation, and two assistant staff were questioned earlier this week, and police plan to call in the operating surgeon and others for questioning after analyzing what was seized during two ra
ids on the hospital.

During the raids, police also obtained a stillbirth certificate in which the doctor said that the abortion was performed after a natural stillbirth. Investigators plan to look into whether the stillbirth claim is true.

Police have also secured a cremation certificate issued on July 13, weeks after the abortion was performed on June 25. The fetus’s body was kept at the hospital in between and police plan to look into why that happened.
