Preah Sihanouk province has earned the most votes for the Best Countdown City of the Year for the events that it hosted for the 2023-2024 countdown.

The result was released by the National Committee for Clean City Assessment on Jan. 5.

The second and third places of the best countdown cities are Battambang and Siem Reap, respectively.

According to the assessment committee, an event to grant official awards to the top three winning cities will be organised soon.

To promote year-end recreation and quality tourism service, Cambodia initiated the competition through online voting (at http://bestcountdowncity.cambodiacleancity.com) by tourists themselves.

Two days, from 5 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2023, to 5 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2024, were allotted for the voting.
