Screenwriter Kim Eun-sook’s new star-studded series to air on Netflix

The global streaming service Netflix confirmed Monday the production of a new romantic comedy series by renowned screenwriter Kim Eun-sook, starring Suzy and Kim Woo-bin.

The 12-episode series, “Everything Will Come True,” revolves around an encounter between a lamp genie (Kim Woo-bin), who has been asleep for a millennium, and Ga-yeong (Suzy), an emotionally detached human. Ga-yeong inadvertently awakens the genie and is offered three wishes in return.

Kim Eun-sook is a star writer known for many hit TV series, including “Secret Garden” (2010), “Heirs” (2013), “Descendants of the Sun” (2016) and “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” (2016-17). Her revenge thriller, “The Glory,” which aired on Netflix from Dec. 30, 2022, to March 10, 2023, became one of the most-watched Korean dramas on the platform.

“Everything Will Come True” will be helmed by director Lee Byeong-heon, known for films such as “Extreme Job” (2019) and “Dream” (2023) as well as TV series, including “Be Melodramatic” (2019) and the recent N
etflix series “Chicken Nugget.”

The project marks the first reunion of the two actors since they co-starred in the KBS drama “Uncontrollably Fond” in 2016.

The release date has yet to be announced.
