SG BAKAP BY ELECTION: DETERMINED VOTER ARRIVES IN AMBULANCE

Rosnah Ramli, 50, demonstrated her determination to fulfill her duty as a voter in today’s Sungai Bakap by-election by arriving at the polling station in an ambulance.

Rosnah, a stroke patient confined to a wheelchair, was transported by the non-governmental organisation Yayasan Amal Malaysia to Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sungai Duri around 11 am.

Despite suffering a stroke three years ago that left her unable to walk, she was determined to fulfill her duty.

“One of my children contacted the foundation a week ago to arrange my transport to the polling centre. This is my first experience voting in an ambulance,” she told reporters.

According to the Election Commission data, the polling centre has nine streams catering to 5,745 registered voters.

It reported that a total of 39,151 voters are eligible to vote today, with nine polling stations and 65 voting streams open.

The Sungai Bakap by-election is a one-on-one contest between PH candidate Joohari and PN candidate Abidin, following the death of the incu
mbent Nor Zamri Latiff on May 24 due to stomach inflammation.
