SULTAN NAZRIN GRACES 2024 SCOUT AWARDS PRESENTATION


IPOH, The Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah today conferred Stars, Medals and King’s Scout Certificates of Perak Malaysian Scout Association for 2024.

Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and National Chief Scout Maj Gen (R) Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Zin Bidin at the ceremony held at the Perak Darul Ridzuan Building here.

At the ceremony, a total of 222 scout leaders at all levels received stars and medals from the Malaysia and Perak state Scout federation, including six overseas scout leaders involving the Philippines, India and Thailand for their commitment and trust to lead their respective organisations.

Mohd Zin in his speech said a total of 56 members of the Perak State Scouts had graduated with distinction and were recognised as King Scouts for the 2021 and 2022 batch.

“The awarding of stars and medals is the highest recognition of the Malaysian Scout Federation for the commitment and trust entrusted to them to lead the organisation and train scout members,” he said.

n said Perak State Scouts is the only state that has managed to create five Malaysia Book of Records.

According to him, they are the Tallest Scout Pioneering Tower in 2008, the Largest Bird Nest Scout Pioneering Structure (2012), the Participation of 600 Scouts in the Dabus Dance (2016), the Longest Scout Pioneering Structure (2017) and the Disabled Scout Solo Kayak Survival from Tasik Banding to Bagan Datuk Jetty (2021).

In addition, Mohd Zin said the Perak State Government through the Perak State Agricultural Development Corporation (SADC) has agreed to give a 10-acre (4.047 hectare) plot of land between Tanjung Tualang and the Perak Tengah district to be used as a training centre for the state’s scouts.

“Together we pray that the dream of Perak state scouts to have a modern training centre or scout camp with appropriate infrastructure as a training centre or scout academy,” he said.
