Tourism Benefits of Siem Reap-Angkor Summit on Mine-Free World

Cambodia sees the tourism benefit of hosting the Siem Reap-Angkor Summit on a Mine-Free World from Nov. 25 to 29, 2024 in Siem Reap province.

Deputy Secretary General of the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) H.E. Tep Kalyan highlighted that ‘Siem Reap-Angkor’ prefixed to the title of the world-class event will promote its memory among delegates from the 164 countries to join the meeting.

The summit, moreover, will produce a five-year strategic action plan for demining activities that will also be titled with the Siem Reap-Angkor prefix, contributing to promoting the iconic tourist destination of Cambodia among readers and users, he added.

Senior Minister H.E. Ly Thuch, who is CMAA’s First Vice President, told AKP that Siem Reap is a suitable venue for this meeting that Cambodia will host in November this year.

The province has been transformed from a minefield to not only a mine-free area but a most-visited tourist attraction in Cambodia, he added.

He was confident that the gr
eat hospitality facilities and services, as well as high security in Siem Reap, will create a wonderful experience and memory among participants of the Siem Reap-Angkor Summit on a Mine-Free World.

With that, the summit’s attendees will not only learn about Cambodia’s endeavour in freeing its land from mines but also remember Siem Reap-Angkor and help promote more visitors to Cambodia.
