Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet said U.S. companies will buy more Cambodian rice to supply the U.S. market.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 7th Cambodian Rice Forum held here this afternoon, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said those companies told him while paying a courtesy call on him this morning at the Peace Palace.

Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister also expressed his pride over the growing presence of Cambodian products on the American markets. ‘When I studied there about 30 years ago, there was no Cambodian products in the supermarket there, but now it is different. We have rice and other agricultural products as well as travel goods and garment and textile products,’ he said.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet encouraged all stakeholders to further work together to bring more Cambodian products to international markets.

From January to August 2024, Cambodia exported US$17.58 billion worth of products to the international markets, up some 16.7 percent compared to the same period las
t year.
