VISIT PERAK YEAR 2024 TARGETS RM10 BILLION REVENUE

The Perak government has set an income target of RM10 billion through the Visit Perak Year (TMP) 2024.

State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee chairman Loh Sze Yee said the state government is targeting eight million domestic tourists and 350,000 international tourists next year.

“This is based on estimates from the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) and Tourism Malaysia, taking into account we managed to generate income of up to RM7.8 billion in 2019,” he told a press conference at the Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here today.

He also said that, in order to ensure TMP 2024 is a success, various strategies have been planned, including creating an official logo with the concept of a combination of the state’s traditional weaving patterns along with five colour combinations – pink symbolising relaxation and family, green (eco-tourism), blue and purple (islands and creativity) and orange (heritage, culture and handicrafts).

“We plan to hold the TMP 2024 pre-launch ceremony on July 15 and 16, which involves the organising of events, promotions and advertising,” he said.
