World Bank to Strengthen Cooperation with Cambodia in Education Development Promotion

The World Bank (WB) is interested in continuing to strengthen and expand its cooperation with Cambodia to promote the education development, as well as the implementation of core activities of WB’s financing.

The interest was confirmed by Ms. Mariam J. Sherman, outgoing Country Manager of the WB for Cambodia, and her successor, Ms. Tania Meyer, during their meeting in Phnom Penh on July 30 with H.E. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports.

In addition, the WB side was keen to learn more about the basic education project in order to provide its support to this project effectively.

For his part, Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Hang Chuon Naron expressed his deep gratitude to the WB for its commitment to continue cooperation with the Royal Government of Cambodia in almost all fields, especially in education, which has actively contributed to the development of Cambodian human resources.

He stressed that the basic education project was developed with the aim of modernis
