Yoon instructs PM to draw up measures to promote cooperation between ministries

SEOUL, President Yoon Suk Yeol instructed Prime Minister Han Duck-soo on Monday to draw up measures to promote cooperation between ministries to better run state affairs, his office said.

Yoon and Han held their first weekly meeting of the year at the presidential office and discussed the direction of government operations, according to presidential spokesperson Kim Soo-kyung.

“Please come up with detailed measures, including personnel exchanges and budget support, so that this year we can reorient ministries around tasks, break down the partitions between them, and activate cooperation,” Yoon was quoted as saying.

Yoon vowed in his New Year’s Day address to make his administration an “action-oriented, problem-solving government,” not a government that “just carries out reviews.”

To begin with, he invited members of the public and experts to take part in the annual policy briefings of ministries that kicked off last week.
