President Yoon Suk Yeol has pledged support for Korean businesspeople abroad to help expand their presence in the global market during a business expo in Austria.

His message, delivered by South Korea’s Ambassador to Austria Ham Sang-wook, was shared at the opening ceremony of the Korea Product Expo held at the Austria Center Vienna on Tuesday.

“The government will make every effort to help Korean businesspeople freely navigate the global market,” Yoon said in the message.

The expo is part of the 28th World Korean Business Convention, co-hosted by Yonhap News Agency and the World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Association (World-OKTA), the largest overseas Korean economic organization.

“The robust network of World-OKTA has served as a bridgehead for domestic companies to expand into international markets while fostering mutual growth,” Yoon said.

He emphasized Austria’s strategic importance as a transportation and logistics hub connecting Eastern and Western Europe, noting it serves as a gateway t
o the European market, where Korean industries, including automotive, battery technology and defense, are expanding.

He also expressed hope that the convention would strengthen ties between South Korea and Austria, broadening opportunities for mutual economic cooperation.
