BMW Korea, Hyundai Motor Co. and three other carmakers will recall more than 44,000 vehicles due to faulty components, the transport ministry said Thursday.The five companies, including Honda Korea, Mercedes-Benz Korea and MAN Truck and Bus Korea Ltd., are voluntarily recalling a total of 44,281 units of 48 different models, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said in a statement.The problems that prompted the recall include a faulty battery wiring system in Hyundai's Kona SX2 subcompact SUV, a faulty component in the fuel pump of Mercedes-Benz's E350 4MATIC sedan, a faulty battery cable in Honda's CR-V SUV and fuel filter heater problems in MAN Truck and Bus' TGM Cargo truck, the statement said.Vehicle owners can check the government's homepage at www.car.go.kr or call 080-357-2500 to see if their vehicles are subject to the recall, the ministry said.Source: Yonhap News Agency
