GUA MUSANG, Construction of the Bertam Bridge, worth RM9.039 million, in the Nenggiri state constituency, is expected to be completed in March next year, said Deputy Public Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.He said the progress of the project had reached 58.67 per cent as of last June 20 and was on schedule.The bridge construction is a continuation of the road and bridge project to connect Kampung Bertam Baru and Kampung Bertam Lama, which is separated by the Nenggiri River, he told a press conference after a working visit to the Public Works Department's office here todayHe said the project also involved the construction of roads to link villages in the area, such as Kampung Limau Kasturi and Kampung Jerek to Bandar Gua Musang."This project, which will benefit about 5,000 people, can also improve the socio-economic status of the local community and become a catalyst and enabler for the population to produce, send and market agricultural products,' he said.Source: BERNAMA News Agency
