Cambodian Legislative Leaders Speak Highly of Malaysian PM’s Visit

Presidents of the Senate and National Assembly of Cambodia have lauded the official visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Honorable Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim to Cambodia, saying that it will contribute to fostering the over-six-decade relationship and cooperation between the two nations.

The appreciation was made by Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of the Senate and Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly while receiving separately the Honorable Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim in Phnom Penh this afternoon.

The Cambodian legislative leaders also expressed their satisfaction with the good cooperation between the two governments in the bilateral, regional and global frameworks. Both countries’ legislative bodies have also cooperated extensively, particularly within the framework of the Parliamentary Friendship Group and supported each other on various regional and global inter-parliamentary forums, they noted.

The Honorable Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim informed Samdech Say Chhum and Samdech Heng Samrin that his first visit to Cambodia as the Prime Minister of Malaysia is to strengthen and expand the friendship and cooperation between the two peoples and countries.

He also highly valued Cambodia’s good experience in promoting and ensuring religious freedom and harmony in the country.
