Chinese Foreign Minister to Visit Cambodia Next Week

H.E. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, will pay an official visit to Cambodia from April 21 to 23, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s press release.

During the visit, H.E. Wang Yi will be granted a royal audience by His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, at the Royal Palace. He will also pay separate courtesy calls on Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, the Prime Minister.

H.E. Wang Yi will co-chair with H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, the Seventh Cambodia-China Intergovernmental Coordination Committee Meeting. He will also hold bilateral talks with H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea, Deput
y Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, to exchange views on further consolidating close and excellent bilateral ties spanning wide-ranging areas.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said the visit coincides with the Cambodia-China People-to-People Exchange Year and will contribute to further strengthening the ironclad friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation, deepening the building of a high-quality, high-level and high-standard Community with a Shared Future, promoting the Diamond Cooperation framework, and stimulating collaboration across regional and international platforms, thus mutually benefiting the two nations and peoples.
