FAHMI EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES TO TIA JINBARA’S FAMILY

KUALA LUMPUR, Minister of Communications and Digital Fahmi Fadzil has expressed his condolences to the family of the former vocalist of rock band Jinbara, Shamsul Bakhtiar Zakaria, also known as Tia, who died today.

In a post on his Facebook page today, Fahmi hoped that the family would be patient and remain strong through this trying time.

The media reported that Tia, 53, died due to liver cancer at the Shah Alam Hospital at 9.17 pm.

Previously, Tia was diagnosed with liver cancer and received treatment at the hospital since Nov 1.

Tia, together with the band Jinbara, became famous through songs like Farhana (Puteri Bumi Kenyalang) and was a participant in the fourth season of the reality television show Gegar Vaganza.

Tia leaves behind a wife, Suzan Ahmad.
