MELAKA, Institut Tun Perak (ITP) has forged a collaboration with Utechtium Sdn Bhd, the spin-off company of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), for the implementation of the Melaka State People's Skills and Professionalism Recognition Programme.State Investment, Industry, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Development Committee deputy chairman Datuk Khaidhirah Abu Zahar said the programme involved seven related courses to help the Melaka folks obtain professional certificates."This is one of our efforts to empower the fields of professionalism and skills, thus producing more youths who will be recognised as competent and highly skilled individuals."The training to be provided under this collaboration will hopefully meet the industry's current needs and further enhance the state's competitiveness,' she told reporters here today.Earlier, she witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ITP chief executive officer Prof Madya Dr Mohamad Ainuddin Iskandar Lee an d Utechtium Sdn Bhd director Prof Dr Ahmad Asari Sulaiman.Elaborating, Khaidirah said the agreement covered the implementation of seven courses, including the Occupational Safety and Health Coordinator Certification, 5G Telecommunications Professional Certification and the Construction Site Safety Supervision, which have proven to provide a return on investment (ROR) of over 400 per cent."These programmes can also add value to professional data in the state, which can attract foreign investors to invest in Melaka and, thus, have a positive impact on the people and the state's economy,' she said.Source: BERNAMA News Agency
