LS Electric Co. on Monday reported its first-quarter net income of 79.7 billion won (US$57.7 million), up 57.9 percent from a year earlier.The company said in a regulatory filing that operating income for the January-March period rose 14.6 percent on-year to 93.7 billion won. Sales increased 6.4 percent to 1.03 trillion won.The operating profit was 26.5 percent higher than the average estimate, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
