National Assembly Speaker Kim Jin-pyo was set to embark on an eight-day trip to the United States and Canada on Monday in an effort to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy with the two countries, his office said.Kim seeks to establish regular communication channels with the parliaments of the U.S. and Canada, while boosting cooperation in the defense industry and the establishment of supply chains of key minerals, his office said.Kim is the first National Assembly speaker to visit the U.S. in five years.Source: Yonhap News Agency
