South Korean stocks continued to trade higher late Thursday morning on the back of robust gains from technology and finance shares.The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index had gained 44.62 points, or 1.73 percent, to 2,628.8 as of 11:20 a.m.In Seoul, market bellwether Samsung Electronics gained 1.39 percent, and No. 2 chipmaker SK hynix added 0.84 percent.Leading battery maker LG Energy Solution moved up 2.88 percent and Samsung SDI shot up 4.27 percent.Financial companies also traded higher, with KB Financial moving up 0.95 percent and Shinhan Financial adding 2.47 percent.Top chemical firm LG Chem rose 0.8 percent, and cosmetics giant Amorepacific jumped 3.87 percent.The local currency was trading at 1,372.8 won against the greenback, up 14 won from the previous session's close.Source: Yonhap News Agency
