'Xi Jinping Boulevard' Sign Post was unveiled this morning under the presidency of H.E. SUN Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), and H.E. WANG Wenbin, newly appointed Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Cambodia.On the occasion, H.E. SUN Chanthol mentioned about the importance of Xi Jinping Blvd. that connects National Road (NR) 1 to NR4. In the future, he continued, the Xi Jinping Blvd. will also link to Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway, which will contribute to traffic jam reduction in the city.According to H.E. SUN Chanthol, the Xi Jinping Blvd. was put into public use on Aug. 3, 2023 under the presidency of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN Sen, former Prime Minister of Cambodia and currently President of the Senate, and then was officially named as Xi Jinping Blvd. on May 28, 2024 by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, and H.E. WANG Wentian, former Ambassador of China to Cambodia.H .E. SUN Chanthol added that the Xi Jinping Blvd. not only reflected bilateral bloomsome relations and Diamond Cooperation of both countries to attain Cambodia-China Community with Shared Future with high quality and high standard through mainly H.E. Xi Jinping's Belt and Road Initiative, but also will enhance economic independency of Cambodia.The road was named as 'Xi Jinping Boulevard' in honour of Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping, who has played a key role in promoting the bilateral relations between Cambodia and China.Today also marks the 66th Anniversary of the Establishment of Cambodia-China Diplomatic Relations (July 19, 1958 - July 19, 2024).Source: Agence Kampuchea Presse
